Train tube sketches V

Imagine all people, living in this world today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tube train sketches IV in October

Young and old, the rich and the poor, the good, bad and the ugly. You see them all on the trains!

Tube Train Sketches in October III

There are some very strange people in London, be careful not to laugh or you could get into real trouble. Never keep eye contact as a sketcher or you'll reveal your stuff too soon.

Tube Train sketches in October II

The people in London are not the happiest of all. Their emotions are deep though. A lot of sleeping and reading, all to avoid talking to strangers sitting beside them. What a life!

Tube train sketches in OCTOBER I

I have had a back log of sketches of people on the train and tube in October and here they are. many more to come. Enjoy this simple visual diary.

Hope they do well this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rush Hour III, oil on canvas, 80 x 100cm

This is another series on my Rush Hour series, this particular one got accepted for the finals of the under 35 category in the Royal Institute of Oil Painters 2007 exhibition to be held at the Mall Galleries.

I really enjoy these Rush Hour paintings because they are the experiences I go through everyday on the tube and I know what is like to be part of that "rat race feel". We all go head long in the train/tube or bus with a serious weird anticipation for work. Hmm mm .

In this painting I wanted to capture the evening feel during the shorter day periods in London when it becomes dark at about 4pm and it is closing time around 5.30pm and everyone plods into the tube subway......

Mostly muted colours have been used, yellows, oranges and red/browns to give the city central glow!

sketches on the Train/bus/tube Oct 1- Oct 6

These are the first part of the sketches I have done in the first week of October 2007 on London Transport! Happy viewing!

Sketches on the train/tube in August/September

As usual, this is my delight. I have started using the sketchpad back and front it creates a kind of nice feeling, compostiton wise, some work some clash. Here are a few examples.

I was on the train yesterday and spotted this girl, fair and had golden hair and a black top on. All the guys behind me were watching the progress and I just kept at the job, listening to my music and viola! I got one of my best shots...........

Sketches on the train (Sidcup--)

I think I got on the wrong train and it was useless I would have to go all the way to Dartford via Sidcup before I could get back on track to Belvedere. So since the journey would take longer I spotted this lady at the back seat of the train and since I was in good position I got the best of her features before she got off.

Sketches on the tube and train

These are a few sketches I made on the tube last week, I particularly fell in love with the 2nd and 3rd couple on the tube on Saturday- they looked terrific! I regret wasting time before I made my decision to sketch but all along I was observing thier features, they spoke french they were simply amazing!
