NIGHT RAIDER, 12" x 18", Acrylic on heavy watercolour paper, 2008

Once again this is from Karin Jurick's different stokes from different folks. The cows are arriving from all over the world- this is absolute fun to see, check them out!

I did this one in acrylic, no more no less...............

This is the palette below, the "beef" the cow was made of.

  2. Thanks, I almost fogot I had a wild passion for cows, but you see Karin has a way of pulling stuff out of us.

In Nigeria, we never really had the cows looking this beefy, they were lean and lanky but had the most interesting forms and features.

The Rector of my college had so many cows at a particular time and I remember I used to chase them around just to get sketches of them. Sometimes I would go to a market place where they sold live cows just to sketch them with the Fulani men who reared the cattle!

  3. Quite the edgy cow. You always raise the bar.

  4. I love the deep rich red you've painted it with, the way it blends in the shadows, the light falling on the cow's head... truly beautiful, and I must say cows (real or painted ones) are usually not my cup of tea!
