My daughter, Kezia at 9 months gets her first portrait in oil.
I had a lot of problems with the distortion and foreshortening corrections that need to be made when working from photos and it seems the front hand suffered in the end. But overall I enjoyed the process and that is the gaze she gives me when she is strapped down in her bouncer and daddy is trying to paint!
Oh my Gosh....... she is so beautiful and for Easter she looks like she just got hatched from a special flowers. I love her face and the light on it. I see the hand been a little difficult as you say but this piece is so precious for that look she gives you......lol Blessings to your family this Easter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dominique, blessings to you too!
ReplyDeleteshe looks very sweet... there can be no expression that can replace the eagerness that children show "to get out" when they feel their movement is going to be restricted... and you have got that expression right...
ReplyDeleteYes Rohit, a child's face can speak a thousand words! Sometimes the gaze is just too deep you just feel them piercing through your soul!
ReplyDeleteShe is precious! Beautiful portrait!
ReplyDeleteOh my Adebanji, this is precious...I can feel the love you have for her!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dana and Alexandra!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful portrait. The colours are strong, but soft, not detracting from the baby.
ReplyDeleteI love that direct look she's giving you, trying to guilt you out for not paying attention to her. She's really a beautiful child and will so appreciate these moments that you capture for her into future.
A wonderful painting
ReplyDelete"ditto" what all the others said.
ReplyDeletedarling child! and i enjoy that you are a "process" person with these sketches and other works. great stuff.
