Two Homeless Scenarios, 12" x 12", Sketchbook, 2010
These are two drawings I have done when in hunt of Big Issue Sellers. I have posted in large format so you can read clearly, some of the notes I have written beside the sketches.
Thanks - you have inspired me, to get my sketchbooks back out and sketch - getting ready to spend a month where it isn't as handy to paint...so sketch it will be. Your book looks wonderful - what an interesting subject matter and wonderful study! Congratulations!
I love your sketchbook pages. Your elegant handwriting adds a special touch, too. You've inspired me to take a look at my old sketchbooks and maybe take it up again.
Wow! That's cool, R.Garriott. It's always great to see that people actually get inspired to use their sketchbooks after sseing these sketchshots. Explore, discover and record the things that interest you, it's an old old way of learning! Run with it!
There's something special about a sketchbook - it takes you back to time and place more fully than a photo does - at least that's how it is for me. I really enjoy looking at your work. i love the quality of the line.
"Congratulations on your publishing!! Really wonderful and it encourages me so much. I also thank you so much for the topic, "Homeless People." In my blog, I have been talking of it... I hope art work will get public attention on behalf of voiceless and vulnerable people. Keep up your great work!" God bless you. I pray for you. Best regards, Sadami Thanks Sadami-Adebanji

ReplyDeleteNice one Pattie! I am always happy when someone ticks and gets ready to sketch after viewing these sketchshots. Keep it going!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the dark pencil you used here.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, the one with the single man that looks dark is an oil base pencil. Thanks!
