Two drawings of Josh
These are two drawings I did of my boy Josh, in Graphite on a very weak Cartridge paper, He had just started crawling and I wanted to catch those akward movements he was used too and sometimes stopping and giving up. It was kind of experimental.
I used the graphite in a watercolour way, by grinding the stick to powder and using a brush to paint from pictures I took of him.
One of the drawings was exhibited at the Pastel Society this year at the Mall Galleries.
Both of these drawings are included in a book called "Strokes of a Genius" which has drawings from 100 artists worldwide. This book is published by Northlight Books in August 2007

http://www.koladeoshinowo.com/gallery.html
This man taught me pictorial composition while I was studying at Yaba College of Technology. He ia a master and thats all can say. You can click on the link above to see his paintings on his website.
He always encouraged us to work hard. I can never forget the first time when I was opportuned to listen to him introduce us to studying Art in the school- He made us know that artists with talent don't do well here but the hardworking artist. That has stuck with me today.

Sketch of my friend "SCOUSE"
This drawing of "Scouse" was done yesterday evening at work, he had been on my neck to sketch him for a while and this was the evening it had to be done.
I used a page from my A4 daler-Rowney sketch pad, HB Graphite pencil, Tissue, Putty rubber, Artificial light source, Radial Easel.
It took me approx 1 hour 30mins to complete and he was a very composed model, except for his occasional drifting which had an effect on the finished picture. He didn't like the sleepy look to his eyes, so I had to work on that by letting him pose again this time -trying his best to keep his eyes wide open! He was pleased with the finished piece and I was quite pleased to catch a bit of his character in the sketch.
He is a very pleasant chap and and an ardent lover and supporter of LIVERPOOL FC!

He has alot of insight and visual power. He taught me how to convey mood into paintings. All respect to Abiodun Olaku!

RUSH HOUR II-steps of progress
This is my second series of the Rush Hour paintings and It took me about 2 weeks to complete. I relly enjoy these crowded scenes as it gives me the opportunity to put into the paintings, the feelings I have, whenever I use the underground everyday and see the many people just going and coming, it really inspires me how differnt we all are!
