FLYING MOLESKINS

This is a great exchange of sketchbooks between 13 artists that I am currently taking part in. Check the site HERE for details.

Front cover

I have as the theme for my sketchbook- Homelessness and Poverty and I have kicked things off with this image below.

"got spare change, please...?"

Biro, graphite and No75 TOMBOW BRUSHPEN

It is really going to be great! I'll end up with a sketchbook full of different artists interpretation of theme: Homelessness and Poverty.

When my sketchbook finally comes back to me after traveling round to 13 different artists homes , I'll continue the project and make sure the book is filled with different images to project this theme.

I received my first batch of Moleskin pages from Liz and it also had gifts for my children! Now that's great!

A great thanks to Dominique for getting this all underway!

Adebanji,
Thank you for stretching me in a way that I would not of thought of. I thank God for this opportunity to bring this plight of our society in evidence through our talents. I look forward to adding to your book my friend and in the process to grow in gratefulness of what I have.
Sincerely..... Dominique

Wonderful piece, Adebanji, and a truly meaningful theme - I look forward to contributing to it. Also, your handwriting is beautiful! Wish mine looked like yours.

Wow! What a start, and a thought-provoking theme, Adebanji. Thanks for giving us a preview of your instructions, too. Really has me thinking of ideas.
(and Edward's right...your handwriting is a work of art itself.) Looking forward to seeing everyone's input on this particular theme.

Thanks Liz! It's a theme I have always wanted to work on and with the inspiration I'll get from this- I might be going straight into the streets to meet and sketch, draw and paint them live, for a fund-raising exhibition for the homeless in the near future!

I'm excited (and intimidated) about your theme, focusing on an uncomfortable subject, instead of what we are accustomed to; thanks for pushing me/us! As Edward said, your handwriting is beautiful, an art in itself.

I do have one request, perhaps weird, can you please give us a phonetic pronunciation of your name? I'm sure I butcher your name each time I read it...thanks!

Cool Angela, that's ok
AAHDEYBANJEE.
Hope that helps.
I'm happy you're all taking it in a good way!

Wow....I am tremendously inspired by your work and this project. Your blog was recommended to me when I asked the question of what artists and designers role is in social justice.
