Back to the farms where it all began!

On Tuesday I had an interesting trip to Lea Valley farms in search of my beloved cows. It turned out to be the pigs that stole my attention. I took loads of photos for future paintings, these are just some sketches I managed to make in between.

Still need to visit two farms for future life paintings when they are allowed on the field.

You might be wondering why I have the title as back to where it all began. Well, that's because while at Yaba College of Technology studying art it was The Rectors' cows that stole my heart away, I used to sketch them for hours, chasing them where ever they'll settle down with less movement. This act basically got me hooked on sketching!

We artists all have your story -something that grabs our attention, and we get hooked for a lifetime! With me it's angels (that's why I live in Los Angeles -city of the angels -just joking)

Oh Adebanji, you have stolen my heart with your cows (and pigs, too)! It has been a while since I've had the pleasure to paint or sketch cows, but I do have my favorite cow paintings all through the house! When we are out driving, my husband will always pull over so I can photograph these beautiful bovines! Living in Texas I get to see cows all the time, but it's never enough, I always want to see more!

Beautiful sketches, as always!!! :-)

Hi, old friend..I love to see you do an occasional animal. The cows are nice, but the happy pigs are grand. I'm still amused by the "Jolly Llamas" you did for my sketchbook. Oh, and there's several ranches where I am that raise llamas. Check out my blog (April 1) of some pictures of them I took just 2 miles from my studio. Keep sketchin'..looking good, as usual.
