World's End, Chelsea I, 6" x 8", Oil on board, 2010

World's End, Chelsea I, 6" x 8", Oil on board, 2010

I did this piece because the World Cup was on at the time and it was, exciting as, England were still in it, you could hardly pass any public or private building without seeing St George's flags. They are still up in some places and this was one of the places that had two flags up. I pass through this place almost everyday en-route my studio, so, I knew I'll be painting it one day.

Adebanji painting

It was one of the enjoyable ones, as the weather was good and I didn't need to buckle because of the cold.

Snapshot of the scene

Enjoy the pics!

your art is so beautiful--the art box must make it a joy to churn out those paintings! Looks convenient

Thanks Sandra, I was having some problems with publishing your comments, I had to use my name, but now out of the blues-your comment is there. The box is great and I am investing in another one too as this one has it own ups and downs.

Great painting. What a good World Cup painting (shame about the result though)

Thanks Tsuep! I know, there were some really shocking results.

I love your London paintings, Adebanji, and this is nice because it captures the moment - with those flags! I also admire your gall, sitting there painting on the street bold as brass ~ wish I was that brave! :)

Thanks Janet! Hey-you can do it! No need to be brave, just dare to do! Think of the beggars, they've got guts to sit there and beg-they go through a lot of terrible things. You and I aren't in that category, so no need to fear, just believe, and just do it!

andalf67Love the World's End painting, Adebanji. It's where I was born and bred. If you're interested take a look at mu blog all about the World's End.

You'll see it's a painter's place. Ever seen the John Minton virw of the World's End Pub?
