Sketches on the bus in February II

I got two pages today and because there were no models in the first bus I got on, I sketched myself through the window reflections. This works well in the winter as the days are shorter and it gets dark quick, this now makes the windows so reflective from inside the bus that it almost gives a perfect mirror effect. I have done this many times in the past and would continue to do it this season when in a bus and there are no models.

great your collection of selfportraits done in the bus but I also loved the study sketches you've done for the two children they're amazing , tthose final worked portraits are very good but are different. great skill yours.

Thanks Isabel! I had always dreaded self portraits that is why I am using this experience to gain some confidence.

Yes, the portraits in the final section are the same pictures taken a bit more closely with better lighting.

Your drawings on the bus are genius. Having sketched on trains for years I'd like to point out the difficulty factor. You must endure babies crying in the background, or someone talking too load on their cell phone, the unpredictable direction of a line while being bounced around on the inadequate suspentions employed in public transportation,.. and yet, you seem to have tunnel vision in your execution of these gems, as if you are in control of all the variables. Bravo!

Thanks Larry, you have been there!

I really appreciate this solid analysis of sketching on public transport!

Love how you don't let obstacles get in your way. Unless you have a magic fairy following you, you did finally get one passenger to take your picture. You find the best "strangers" to help you.

Thanks Sheila, it was a guy who was so engrossed in what and why I was looking into the window and at the same time sketching that came to my aid this time and he took a picture of his own from his mobile phone.
